Organized an exhibition of photos by slain Associated Press photographer Anja Niedringhaus at the Student Union Gallery. Kathy Gannon, who was wounded in the Afghan attack that killed Niedringhaus, attended the reception. Gannon was in Tucson to accept the School of Journalism's John Peter and Catherine Zenger Award on behalf of herself and Niedringhaus. The Zenger award recognizes courage in journalism. UA Journalism students built an altar in the tradition of the annual "Dia de los Muertos" to honor Niedringhaus.
